The Minnipa Avenue of Honour was established on the 20th August 1940 to commemorate the local people who served in World War Two. This is located on Clive Street in Minnipa, South Australia.“Following the planting of a dozen trees in the various streets, a tree presented by Mrs. G. Williams was planted opposite the Minnipa Post Office by Mr. and Mrs. Dean, parents of the late Cpl. Jimmy Dean, M.M., who lost his life in New Guinea. A minute’s silence was observed by all present and the programme by the school children followed.” (West Coast Sentinel, 20 July 1944, p.1 <http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article168467029>).
