The Woodvale Memorial Grove was established in June 1995, to commemorate the local service men and women who served in World War Two. Some 500 native trees were planted as part of this ‘Australia Remembers’ project, marking the 50th anniversary of the end of World War Two. This memorial grove is bounded by the major Ocean Reef Road and suburban Castlegate Way, at a north-western edge of Yellagonga Regional Park, Woodvale.

TREENET’s Avenues of Honour project is a national initiative to document, preserve, promote and reinstate the original Avenues of Honour and to establish new commemorative trees, comemmorating Australia’s war service encompasing plantings from Boer War, WW1, WW2 and all subsequent conflicts.
