Point Walter Reserve Nurses Memorial

Avenue of Honour Address

Honour Avenue
Bicton
Western Australia
6157

The Nurses Memorial is one of two established in Perth (the other is at Kings Park) to commemorate the service, suffering and sacrifice related to the Vyner Brooke tragedy during WW2.

A small pond and garden surround, provides the backdrop
to this memorial, in the Point Walter Reserve at Bicton.

Nestled within a curved metal-clad wall,
is a small granite column bearing a bronze plaque.

This focal feature is further surrounded by a grove of twenty one memorial trees, each with a plaque at the base, signifying the names of the nurses
on the ill-fated voyage of the SS Vyner Brooke.
